Why the Bluff?

We define life through our own unique experiences...and those experiences shape our VIEW of life.

I can say that I've spent close to half my life taking in the sights, smells, & sounds of an 11 1/2 acre bluff property which shaped my view of life as a young free-spirited girl, and now today...the "view from the bluff" still speaks life lessons to me.

The bluff revealed my limitations and stretched me to reach my full potential.

The bluff gave me scratches & wounds, but also took me on wild adventures of imaginations.

I even thought I had found gold once and knew our family would be rich until my dreams were squelched with the new knowledge of "fool's gold".  The bluff disappointed, it scared, it educated me, it provided a trail for me to follow.

Little did I know that the narrow dirt trail I grazed into the side of the bluff was also blazing a trail of valuable life lessons for me.

View From The Bluff... is my way to remember who I am.

To find myself again...to recall the roots that began this journey of life before others' opinions mattered, before I sought the approval & praise from so-called important people, and longing to meet expectations - known or unknown.

 To find that girl again,
      wide-eyed,
                                 care-free,
and "crazy-fun" because that's the girl God created on that 11 1/2 acre bluff....with experiences that would help her reach her full potential for His grand purposes.

You are welcome to journey life with me...sometimes to reflect on the lessons learned on the bluff, at other times to share a thought, a good read, or even a new healthy recipe. All coming from a little bit of who I am.

Let's live life together...let's sit on the edge of the bluff overlooking the valley, eyes of wonder at the beauty of His sunset, listening to His quiet Spirit within, and capturing His life lessons for us!

Take it in....deep breath.
